Sitting there silently and hearing both Akiko and then Mai shortly thereafter compliment her on her looks, Kiyoko couldn’t help but blush profusely, her ordinarily pale cheeks turning bright red as she then sort of retreated her head into her shoulders out of nervousness, but still managed to bow her head once to each of the Man in Disguise s, practically whispering her response to their praise, “Thank you, and thank you.” She said, keeping it rather short and sweet.
Looking on at the two of them, Kiyoko then sort of whispered as she bobbed her head up and down, looking away to the side, “You’re both pretty too. More than me, I’d say.” Kiyoko had instincts to just act very politely all the time when spoken to, this being something that she had gained being raised by her mother mostly, who had a tendency to be somewhat irrational and easily irritated due to her Clinical Depression. Kiyoko had inherited this condition, although hers manifested itself far more as low self-confidence, shyness, and extreme tendencies towards passive behavior.
To Mai’s question about her piercings, Kiyoko just sort of gulped and let out a very quiet reply, saying, “The Mall.” Mai and Akiko would by now have noticed that it was actually quite hard to even hear Kiyoko when she spoke, because her voice was so naturally quiet and meek. In addition, she had a tendency that even when she did speak, it would usually only be in very short, one or two word answers, as opposed to the longer more elaborate replies one might be used to.

"That's so cute! I like it, I like it!" She said with the same energy as before, trying to get Kiyoko to feel slightly comfortable talking to Akiko and herself. Akiko and Mai were very nice people, it's not as if they would attack her for no reason or hurt her feelings as a lot of snotty other females would, but it was understandable with her personality why she would have such a shell around her.. she wondered why though, even still after her own reasoning. Was it her childhood maybe? Was it the possibility of something drastic that happened to alter her personality completely? Maybe one day Kiyoko could be good friends with her, and she could do more than just read her body actions and her words; actually understand her as a person. The type of person Kiyoko was, it was exactly the type of person that someone like Mai liked to be friends with.
The type you want to protect.
The type you want to let feel.
Feel what it is to live.
"Me and Akiko come here every so often miss pretty, you should like, consider coming with us more often instead of us running into you on the random!" She said, taking a sip of her coffee before continuing,"I know it's really random since this our first time like ever really talking, but liiiike why the hell not right?! It's good to make friends with good people, I feel your hearts as swell as the singing of a symphony of birds!" Her analogy was a little wild, but hopefully Kiyoko would get what she was saying. It was just that Mai got a little too excited when she was befriending someone that was more of a extreme introvert.
She's such a try hard.

Akiko could hardly hear anything but at least now she is responding to them seems like Mai and Akiko were making progress. Akiko was sort of at a lost for words if she hardly could hear her how could Akiko respond. "Could you speak a little louder? Please?" She would ask nervously slightly scared of offending her new friend by implying that she is too quiet.

"Akiko!" Mai set, tapping her friend in the arm to somewhat alert her of her rudeness. She had almost forgotten how oblivious she could be do to her strange upbringing," Don't be so rude.." she said lowly, almost as low as Kiyoko spoke on a more regular basis. She'd probably have to talk to Akiko about Kiyoko, to help her understand the type of person she was and how to at least make them feel a little comfort when around.

"Oh I'm sorry Kiyoko-chan!" She bows her head to say that she is sorry. It didn't occur to her that she was so dreadfully shy but Akiko could relate to her. Akiko isn't exactly the most social person alive.

Tilting her head as she looked away, a faint smile on her face as well as blushing to her cheeks, Kiyoko admired Mai for her confidence and kindness, something she had come to know was a rare combination. Mai was so much more strong willed than her, that Kiyoko was left basking in her radiance.
Then, looking up at Mai as she spoke to her, Kiyoko sat silent and motionless for a second until smiling and nodding her head in response to Mai’s request. Then, as Mai complimented her further, Kiyoko’s entire face seemed to turn bright cherry red as she looked away, a smile on her face. Then, hearing Akiko’s request, and then looking on silently at Mai’s rebuttal, Kiyoko raised her arms and shook the open palms of her hands in front of the two, finally again speaking in her quiet, mouse-like voice, “It’s fine, really. I’m used to hearing that.”

"It's ok, I hope Kiyoko wasn't bothered by it." She said to Akiko in a sweeter tone, it's not as if she was actually angry at her bestest friend ever! Kiyoko still worried her, she was such a quiet person that if something did bother her it was doubtful they would even know it right off the back. Hopefully Mai would be able to read facial expression well with this one, or at least just get her to come around a little faster and open up that beautiful heart she know the Man in Disguise has.

"Sorry again." She once again says. "Mai, Kiyoko I'm gonna go practice for the tournament. Hopefully Akuto will be willing to practice duel me." She says to her friends as she prepares to exit. "Sorry for skipping out." She looked determined to win this tournament but she knows that it will be tough to do with opponents out there like Mizchno and Akuto.

"Alright, text me bestie!" She said as Akiko left, her attention back on Kiyoko. This was actually a little better, now she could focus on the introvert personality of her their newly made friend and try to maybe help her loosen up. She was doubtful that she'd ever be as energetic as the two of them; Akiko and Mai. Even with that being said, it's not as if she couldn't learn to maybe enjoy her life and the people around her more. Whatever wall she had up, maybe it would be breakable.
It's good to try and help people, hopefully that good karma would return to Mai in the future.

Kiyoko looked on silently as Mai and Akiko finished their exchange, and then as Akiko announced that she was going to leave to practice for the upcoming tournament. Waving to Akiko as she left, Kiyoko flashed the ditzy Man in Disguise a smile as she watched her go out the door. Just as Mai did towards her, she then turned her attention back to Mai, and so, looking at the Man in Disguise for a brief moment and smiling, she then looked down and once again raised her mug of Hot Chocolate to her lips and took a sip of it.
