Haruto had just finished his orientation class on how getting new cards work. Apparently he had to duel in order to get yen in order to get new cards. He had just dueled his friend Akuto, but then immediately spent it on a new xyz monster and an Inzektor Ant, because he felt his deck should have all Inzektor monsters, at least for the time being; his deck just seemed to have better synergy that way. Because he only go 1000 yen from that duel, he really needed some more money to get some different Inzektors. After walking out of the classroom, he decided would challenge the first duelist he saw in order to get enough to complete his Inzektor deck. He stood next to a wall, and proceeded to wait.

Erik ran through the hallways of Dust Wing Academy looking for an opponent to duel. Apparently, if he didn't get his grades up in practical dueling, he'd fail the school year. A little harsh, but he hadn't dueled once since coming to this academy so it was understandable. However, just because it was understandable does not make him any less worried. The bell rang and students began pouring out of the classrooms. One student in particular was faster than the others, one student with silver hair, red eyes and an eyepatch?
"Hey you! Sorry I don't know your name. I'm Erik. Do you have some time right now for a duel?" Erik asked as he ran up to the student. Hopefully he will not be scared from this sudden guy appearing out of nowhere.

Haruto was thankful that there would be someone so willing to duel, though he was a little taken aback by his forwardness. Nevertheless, Haruto was happy to oblige. "Sure... Let's duel.."

With the right cards in his hand, Haruto was finally able to pull off his first OTK with his brother's Inzektor deck. It was something his brother did to him all the time, so Haruto was glad he was able to emulate his brother's style finally. He was thankful for Erik's duel. "Thanks for the duel... It was fun..."

Erik watched in confusion as his life points quickly depleted to zero. The opponent's Inzektor deck was insanely strong and just as confusing. At least he won one out of three times, even if it was purely luck that he drew the card when he needed it. "Hey man, nice duel. I didn't stand a chance. What's your name anyways? Sorry about attacking you for a duel, I really need to duel more to pass my dueling class. Oh, my name's Erik, Erik Masters. Nice to meet you!" Erik said in a calm voice. He may appear calm, but his eyes gave away his excitment. That duel was exhilarating.

Haruto was a again taken aback by Erik's excitement. However, he didn't seem like a bad guy. Haruto also hadn't seen him before, so perhaps he might be new as well? Haruto felt obliged to show him around if that were the case, since it hadn't been that long since Haruto first came to the school after all. He resolved to at least ask first whether or not Erik was new. "I'm Haruto Huang... Are you new...?"

Seeing the other boy being taken aback a little, Erik gave a sigh. Apparently, he was overly excited again. "Yeah, I'm new. Today's my first day actually. Imagine my surprise when the dueling instructor told me that I had dueled very little previously and if I didn't duel at least once today, he was going to fail me! On my first day! I don't think he likes me." Erik replied in a calmer tone this time, pausing between sentences. "Oh and can you show me around? Since I'm new and all?"

Haruto was glad that Erik was making the effort to be calmer for his sake. Haruto was surprised to hear the instructor would do something like that. Perhaps Haruto's own instructor was different and nicer, since his instructor just let him go home on his first day. That may have just been because Haruto was extremely lost on his first day and didn't get to any classrooms until fairly late in the afternoon, when the instructor probably took pity on him. Either way, he decided to help Erik, since he didn't seem like a bad guy, and maybe Haruto could open up to him in the future. "Sure... follow me." As Haruto led him to where the dorms and buildings were.

"Wow the campus is huge. There's so many people too!" Erik exclaimed as he took in the entirety of the campus. Haruto seems like a nice guy, going as far as offering the new kid a tour of the place. None of the other teachers realized that they forgot to give him a tour of the campus when he was accepted. Coupled with the whole fiasco with the dueling instructor, apparently common sense wasn't all that big here. Erik continued following Haruto until they reached somewhere that appeared like a dormitory of some sort.

"Here's the dorms..." Haruto said, finishing the tour. It was getting late, so he felt he should be heading back to his room now, study up on what might be a good for adding to his Inzektor deck. He also still needed to study for exams and whatnot. "I think that's it... will you be able to find your room... by yourself?"

"Huh, oh yeah thanks. I need to go and unpack too. Before I forget, I'm a sophomore. What about you?" Erik said. The sun was already beginning to set, time flew by so fast. His first day at Dust Wing Academy is almost over.

Haruto was glad to hear that Erik was also a sophomore. That meant that they'd probably be in the same class. Which reminded him, there was a tournament coming up soon. All the sophomores he knew were entering, and felt Erik should as well; he'd be able to play against some really good players. "I'm a sophomore... Do you know about the tournament?" Haruto asked, then realized he probably knew nothing about it, considering that it was Erik's first day afterall. "Anyone can enter... I think you should..."

"No I had no idea. How do I enter?" Erik asked just as he was about to say goodbye and leave. He felt bad about taking up any more of Haruto's time. Haruto had already dueled him and gave him a tour.

"On the day of the tournament... just say you want to enter..." Haruto explained. It might have also been in Erik's best interest to talk with an instructor about Erik wanting to enter, but considering the way Erik's instructor is, that might not be the best idea. It was getting late now, so Haruto felt it was finally time for him to head off. "See ya..."

"Okay, see you later in class or something." Erik said as he began to walk away. Despite the enormity of the dormitory, it was also very organized. He had a feeling he would find his room in no time as he gazed at the slip of paper within his hands showing what room he was assigned. He walked off thinking about what new adventures and people tomorrow will entail.
